4 - 5 year olds
At this age children are now used to being left on their own and take ownership of the lesson. They get a lot of enjoyment from participating and start to contribute their own ideas. Pulse and rhythm are now combined together and the children start to do two different things at a time which leads onto 2 part singing. As the children get ready to start reading, basic musical notation is introduced. Everything continues to be presented in a childlike way using colourful ideas, puppets, pictures, parachutes, dances, live music, percussion instruments, songs and rhymes.
