Can my child be in the same class as a friend who is a year younger?

The classes are carefully shaped to keep the attention of young and active children by continuously varying the activities. The children are encouraged at times to sit and at other times to hold hands in a circle or to move freely. 
If children are distracted and go off we would just keep encouraging them back or move the activity onto something more active or interesting. 
The children soon get used to the structure of the class and this helps them to know what to do and gives them a sense of security.
